This article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the CSV upload process for adding portfolio holdings and save time when creating portfolios.
Please note that some interface changes that you see in the article as illustrations of the feature may not currently be available in your environment.
Adding Portfolio Holdings to the Template
When preparing your CSV file for upload, ensure you follow these guidelines for accurate data incorporation.
1. Utilize the Market Identifier Code (MIC) corresponding to the exchange. Here are some common examples:
- NASDAQ: XNAS
- NYSE: XNYS
- TSX: XTSE
**Provide the correct MIC for the respective exchange where your holdings are traded. Remember, ETFs and stocks require an exchange (MIC), while funds do not. **
2. Identifier:
- Use Ticker for Stocks (e.g., AAPL)
- Use code for Funds (e.g., MAW120)
3. Units:
Specify the number of units as a numerical value. Be attentive to this requirement for proper portfolio calculation. Bonds are not accepted in the template. If you have bond holdings, search and add them manually, or use a proxy.
